Sufi-folk musician, Arieb Azhar is a melting pot of musical and artistic influences. With both his parents in the field of entertainment, television and theatre, Arieb grew up submerged in traditional music. His politico-music trajectory started its course after he discovered the poetry of Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Sheikh Ayaz and he would use his music as a tool to help support various political movements.

With his foundations set in traditional music and poetry, Arieb spent the consequent 13 years of his life feeding off the energy of the city of Zagreb. Performing everywhere from streets to concert halls, Arieb spent his time in Croatia collaborating and recording with artists from around the world. Upon his return to Pakistan, Arieb Azhar released his album ‘Wajj’ which includes poetry from Bulleh Shah, Khawaja Ghulam Farid and Mohammad Baksh to name a few. The album serves as a culmination of Arieb’s musical journey.

After his stellar performances with Husn-e-Haqiqi, Na Rained Hai and his collaboration with Tina Sani on ‘Mori Araj Suno’, Arieb Azhar joins Coke Studio for a third season and lends his deep, smoky voice and poetry to an age-old Pakistani classic.
