Kami Paul first realized he wanted to be a musician when he saw his father and uncle perform at the YMCA in Karachi. At the age of 8, he had started experimenting with possibly every utensil and furniture piece in his house, fascinated by the rhythm that could be created simply by the contact of two surfaces.
Kami’s first mainstream act was with Ahmed Jahanzeb and, since then, there has been no stopping Paul. He has featured in various acts such as the Mekaal Hasan Band, Atif Aslam, Jimmy Khan, Zeb and Haniya, and Meesha Shafi. His enthusiasm has earned him a reputation as a passionate drummer and he has also gone on to form his own instrumental band, Mughal-e Funk.
A firehouse performer, Kami is set to make his third appearance as a house band member on Coke Studio, keeping the beat alive with his groovy pockets and mood-setting cymbals.
