A seasoned producer, Sarmad Ghafoor has worked on albums for numerous mainstream artists including Atif Aslam, Bilal Khan, and Overload, and has also written background scores for many documentaries and short films. Ghafoor’s foray into music began in his teenage years when, out of boredom, he picked up his elder brother’s guitar and started experimenting with it, eventually teaching himself how to play with the help of guidebooks. Since then, Ghafoor has played with multiple rock bands, appearing on Coke Studio as a featured artist as part of his band, Qayyas, in Season 5.

Sarmad’s production company, SnM Studios, began in the basement of his parents’ house and, since then, has gone on to become an incubation center for some of the most well-recognised talent and music in the country. This season, Sarmad joins the Coke Studio house band, picking up the guitar after a long hiatus from the instrument.
