Manzoor Ahmed had little idea of the passion, when he picked up a violin during school years and the extent of its growth. A violinist for over 40 years now, his breakthrough was Runa Laila’s last record in 1972 with which he officially launched his career. Formally trained by his father, his music is influenced by renowned musicians such as Namdar Khan, Javed Iqbal and Saleem Khan.

A master in his craft, he has played for artists such as Noor Jehan and Mehdi Hassan and on timeless anthems such as the original track of ‘Sohni Dharti’ and ‘Yeh Watan Tumhara Hai’ in the 1970s.

Manzoor Ahmed will make his debut this year on Coke Studio, Season 8.
