      Shazia Manzoor

It comes as no surprise that ones’ easily transfixed by Shazia Manzoor’s gentle and mild spirit as soon as she appears inside a room or a recording studio. This vibe that is addictive and warm is further translated into her richly detailed world of songs since her first recording in the early 90s.

Manzoor arrived in the scene to cement her status as a singer who went from performing at college shows in Rawalpindi to sharing the center stage with the BBC Philharmonic in London.

As a playback singer, Shazia Manzoor’s ascent to the forefront of her music career had one of its crowning moments when she recorded a duet with the Late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, for a Pakistani film titled, ‘Pal Do Pal’. Grateful for not being formally trained for too long, her skill was taut and polished during three-months spent with Late Ustad Feroz, which “still feels like treasure worth and learnt over three decades”.

Shazia Manzoor’s debut on Coke Studio, Season 8, is sonorously rhythmic with submerged layers of soul featuring her painfully beautiful vocals that will leave you swaying with many emotions all at once.
