The eldest son of sitar maestro Ustad Sajid Hussain, Shehroze Hussain hails from the Senia Gharana and has captivated his audience even at the very young age of six, when he started learning the sitar formally. The fourteen year old continues to explore the instrument and it’s complexities in a graceful and an effortless approach ever since.
A vital member of a classical ensemble, Tarz Group, led by Yousuf Kerai, for the last couple of years, Shehroze has performed at The All Pakistan Music Conference, Sampurna and Lahore Music Forum. Technically very knowledgeable, he co-taught a six-week elective at the Aga Khan University on the music of the subcontinent for two consecutive years.
As the youngest musician to ever be featured on Coke Studio, Shehroze Hussain will appear on his debut performance in Season 8, in a soulful and satisfying piece of work from someone so incredibly young to be making such mature music.
